Dear Franklin Families,
Happy Valentine’s Day! Whether you prefer spring or winter, I hope all of you found what you were looking for in the weekend weather! I expect much energy and excitement in school today as students celebrate this fun holiday and look forward to vacation at the end of the week. Based on the forecast, I also anticipate it will be an Indoor Recess day with low wind chill values. Thank you for ensuring that your children are dressed appropriately for the weather when they head out to school each day.
Speaking of vacation and winter clothing, our “lost and found” barrels are very full, and we will be donating unclaimed items to a non-profit organization over vacation. If your children are missing a jacket, hat, glove, water bottle, hoodie, etc. please have them check the lost and found this coming week before the items are donated!
At All School Meeting on Wednesday, the Second Grade Team will lead us in celebrating the 100th Day of School (which is on Tuesday) and Black History Month, including a video created by many of our Franklin School students. This will be a moment of strong community-building in the middle of our school year as we look forward to the busy spring months ahead. I hope that all of you have much laughter and relaxation during the vacation week!
With Best Wishes,
Mark Chitty

If you need to park and walk up to the school either with or without your child, please park on a nearby neighborhood street rather than in the Blue Zone.
