Hi Franklin Families,
The Social Action Committee is excited to announce our next drive with a brand new partner agency, Welcome Home. Check them and their good work out here! http://www.welcomehomemass.org
Details of the Welcome Home drive attached. We’ve worked closely with the agency for them to direct what folks are most currently in need of- which right now are towels and blankets.
Collecting: FULL, QUEEN, OR KING BLANKETS & BATH TOWELS (*important: CLEAN, NEW OR LIKE-NEW- no rips or stains)
When and where to drop off items:
Between October 17-21, you may drop off items on the FRONT PORCH of 167 CHERRY STREET.
We will donate the items directly to Welcome Home.
We have several drives happening this fall. We hope these can be opportunities to involve your kids in giving when and if that is possible for your family.
We know the coming months will bring challenges to many families in our community. The ongoing impact of COVID continues to amplify inequities and hardships already present.
We’re aware that folks are sometimes in the position to give, and at other times may be in need of assistance. Is your family in need of basic household items? Please reach out to our Franklin Social Worker Daniela at mackinnond@newton.k12.ma.us at any time to get connected to resources.
Feel very free to reach out to our committee at any time to get involved, and/or with any ideas you may like to see us consider to involve our kids further in social action.
As always, we greatly appreciate being a part of this wonderful community.
